The Information we Collect

The personal information that we may collect consists of:

Personal data” under Data Protection means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. You can use our Website without being required to provide any personal data to us. We only collect personal data about you on the Website which you volunteer when you email us, by using our online forms, in order to deliver a service or information to you, to send you newsletters or other information. In addition to the information you provide to us, we collect certain information when you visit our website.

 Client Services Data We do not retain PII in the provision of services. Our members may retain your data through use of the Contact Form on their relevant page. This is a relationship between you and the service provider and subject to the service provider’s privacy policy.

 We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

MBN does not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from anyone under the age of 16. If it is discovered that we have collected PII from someone under 16 we promptly will delete that information.

We use the personal information collected in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was intended to be used: to enable us to provide you with the relevant service contact you have queried; to respond to your inquiries; for only essential system administration and support if requested by you. We do not collect information by these means nor is personal information collected by us through these means. Other information, such as more detailed locational information or Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses are not collected.

Through this policy, we will notify individuals of any future automated-decision making practices we may engage in regarding PII, including the logic involved and the significance of the decision as well as the consequences for you. We also will ensure that you may opt out of such automated-decision making practices.

Our Website may, from time to time, contain links to and from other websites. If you follow a link to any of those websites, please note that those websites have their own privacy policies and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for those policies. Please check those policies before you submit any personal data to those websites. We do not share any personal information to other websites. From time to time, some websites may create link(s) to our website. Any such links can only access non-personal information.

Widgets (Facebook)

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button. These Features may collect your IP address, but are subject to Facebook data protection and privacy policies. As an open social media platform, other persons and members of the public may post personal information for which we have no control. Should we observe personal information or images posted to our Facebook page, which we deem is inappropriate or in breach of privacy policies, we will immediately remove this material without advance notice to the person responsible for making the post. Onward Transfer of Information

We work with legitimate enquirers to connect them with our members upon their request and for our website users. Some of these functions may require the collection of your personal information. These are described above under the heading of The Information we Collect and how this information is used, stored and deleted. Other than this, at no time do we share these contact details with other persons external to MBN and for any purposes. Should we ever identify any requirement to share client PII, our clients’ permission will be sought and secured beforehand. We will agree with our client what information can be shared and with whom.

We will provide you all of your retained personal information provided on your request. This can be done by emailing dataprotection@midwestbusinessnetwork.com and title the email with “Request for my Information”.

How long we Keep your Information

We do not knowingly keep your information once we have connected you with our member that you seek. Should you constitute a sub-contractor or contracting specialist, we are obliged by Revenue Services to retain your data for a period of seven years.

We protect your personal information from unauthorised access and disclosure through the use of passwords, physical security measures, managerial measures, individual access, and data encryption. We nonetheless recognise that third parties may obtain access to information through unlawful actions, and thus do not promise that your information always will remain private, despite our efforts and the importance we place on maintaining your privacy. In addition, we do not claim any responsibility for information collected by or from websites linking to or from the MBN Website.

In the event that we discover or are notified of a security breach where personal information is at risk, we will notify you electronically if we have your email address. We will retain your personal information for as long as you are an active client or user of our website. If you request that we no longer use or hold your information contact us at dataprotection@midwestbusinessnetwork.com.
